Summoning my courage, I activated the intricate sequence that would propel me into the same time frame, albeit in a parallel world. The complexities of safely transporting organic matter in a straight line at the incomprehensible speed of 299,792,458 meters per second, commonly known as the speed of light in a vacuum, remained an enigma that eluded my grasp. Nonetheless, I set my sights on a portal located in the desolate expanse of the Moab desert, approximately 300 miles and countless worlds away from HAFB. With a glimmer of hope, I instructed Lou to seek refuge there, believing that this alternate reality might offer a glimpse into the fate of our perilous mission—whether we all managed to escape unscathed or if even a single one of us, accompanied by a precious A.I. cube, found salvation.
However, the moment I materialized in this parallel realm, a sobering realization washed over me. The evidence was undeniable: none of us had survived. The A.I. cubes, fallen into the wrong hands, must have triggered a cataclysmic war of unimaginable consequences. I found myself standing in a desolate version of Earth, where even the majestic desert of Moab had succumbed to the relentless touch of destruction, leaving behind a lifeless and forlorn landscape. Grief and sorrow welled up within me as I surveyed this silent and still world, but a sense of urgency also gripped my soul.
